Blog #6: My Sister's Mission Call

Last week my sister got her mission call. She will be serving in the Russia, Moscow West Mission. That means that she and my brother will both be going to Russia on their missions! And they go into the MTC on the same day, February 10. I can't believe that both my older siblings will be leaving the same day to go serve the Lord. It is definitely a great example for me to follow. I love both of them so much, and I am excited that they have decided to serve missions. I watch them getting excited and ready to go, and I realize how important this work really is. There is really nothing better than to bring the gospel to those who are in need. I look forward to when I will be able to serve a mission. The whole idea of being able to give selfless service and help people come to Christ and learn of Him is amazing to me. I am so grateful for the examples that I have from my brother and sister to go do the Lord's work, and I hope to become like them.

  1. Spencer,
Congratulations to your siblings both going on missions. When I hear about all the people that are getting their mission calls, it gets me very excited and makes me wish that i was 19 years old... At the same time, I get down on my knees daily and pray in gratitude to be at BYU. I can't think of an institution that I would rather be at!

  3. Dude that is so cool. They'll totally be in the same language/MTC missionary group and everything. My brother went to the same mission (Taiwan, TaiZhong) as two of my cousins and one of our best friends from beijing. Coincidence?! I THINK NOT!... Maybe though... Still awesome.

  4. Dang that's so cool. Russia will definitely be a amazing learning experience in so many ways. I agree with Sister Steadman haha both my older siblings went out 6 months apart to similar missions in southern Brazil and I'm startin to brush up on my Português skills. I'm glad you can see what a great opportunity it is for your whole family to have them both out and you can be sure you'll see the blessings. Congrats again man.
